Sunbird Beach Resort Reviews

Stayed 9 nights in a 2 bedroom ocean view room on 17th floor. Five year old in tow. Rooms: clean, neat, spacious. Brand new kitchen with everything including full fridge, oven, cooktop, microwave & dishwasher. Lounge had 2 comfy couches. Large plasma tv with free cable. Book case with great selection of books which was nice. Spectacular view - worth every cent. Secure balcony, able to lock glass sliding door for kids. Split system air con in lounge and master bedroom. Good main bathroom with large bath & shower. Ensuite to main small, but functional. Plenty of cupboard space in bedrooms. Laundry with newish washing machine & dryer. Need to supply own dish and washing machine cleaning products. Ground facilities: 2 pools. Outdoor pool area clean and nice. Pool has sunshade & is partly shaded from late morning onwards which we found fantastic. Pool too deep for 5 year old - no real shallow end. Small childs 'wading pool' - not in shade & not big enough to be called a pool. Heated indoor pool & spa. Smallish pool but did the job. Free use of pool & beach toys. 2 large stainless steel bbq's & picnic tables/chairs. Soda machine. Great tennis court. Didn't use sauna or squash court. Beach 50m across road. Bus stop to Cavill Ave & sea world out the front. 15 min walk to Hwy to catch buses for other theme parks. A 7-11 shop 500m around corner. Small supermarket located in Tedder Ave shopping strip 10 min walk. Quiet location - away from bustle of Surfers but a quick bus ride to Mall. Reception staff very friendly & helpful. Only critisisms: need to have instructions on how to use air con, some useful items missing from kitchen (egg lifter etc), we didn't realise until a few days into our holiday that there was a 7-11 down the block and a supermarket in Tedder Ave, so this would have been great to know up front for drinks, snacks etc. The apartment itself needs a fresh coat of paint and the curtains in the bedrooms need replacing - they let a lot of light in from about 5am onwards, so no real sleep-ins. But those small things aside, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Liked stay,friendly staff & helpful,the lift was noisy when trying to sleep at night & early morn,may need upgrade,unit was very spacious,clean & comfortable.

Great location and room with fantastic sea view. Reception area could do with some modernisation.

10 out of 10 as far as i am concerned. The front desk is very knowledgeable and helpful. The facilities are excellent and Sunbird location in main Beach was perfect for us. We have a young family and the chikldren can't wait to get back there, especially the heated indoor pool. 10 out of 10 for service, hospitality and hygiene. Also all the theme parks are in striking distance.
